Matsui Minoru is an Assistant Professor of at AIIT. Portfolio.
His research topic is . Do you think designers are creative? His short answer is .
The longer answer is that we invent designs randomly, select designs randomly, and transmit designs randomly. He is not the first one to argue so: previous emprical studies can be found in neolithic Europe, Bentley et al. (2004),, citations, and inthis nature paper. However, he showed that through, which is a bit of a contribution. To understand the design of his experiments, you first need to ... Meh, just read his Thesis.

Design [Re]thinking
Rethink design through design thinking. In recent years design thinking has gained legitimacy and popularity as a process for developing design and business to solve problems. Design thinking typically shares a couple of basic principles: namely human-centred, empathizing, prototyping, and testing. Although in many cases design thinking has proved itself valuable in both fostering creative culture and in generating and testing ideas, its ability to instantly enable anyone to solve problems creatively as advertised has been debunked. In this course we investigate design thinking, but it also leaves space to critically reconsider and improve its principles.
